QUARANTINE LIFE: LENDHUB
ANYA SAKALAUSKAITE, SALES EXECUTIVE
HOW HAVE YOU FOUND YOUR NEW WORKING ENVIRONMENT?
The working from home aspect has been one of the many challenges, as finding working space and creating a working environment in a small one bed flat is fairly difficult (very envious of those with access to a garden!). On a brighter side, I’ve been very fortunate to have very supportive colleagues who have done their best to help me stay busy while I was just starting off.
WHAT KEEPS YOU MOTIVATED?
Exercising has been a good way to boost both mood and motivation, so our yoga mats have been taking up half the living room on most evenings now. The work itself has also been a good motivator, as I’m trying to establish both old and new relationships with the introducers and generally trying to take on more responsibilities to help my colleagues out.
WHAT HAVE YOU ENJOYED THE MOST?
The lack of commute has freed up quite a lot of time and it’s perfect to not only exercise but also revisit some old hobbies or pick up new ones. I’ve really enjoyed picking up painting again and have added a piano to my list of impulse purchases.
WHAT ARE YOUR PREDICTIONS FOR THE BRIDGING AND DEVELOPMENT INDUSTRY POST CORONA CRISIS?
Even though a lot of plans and projects have been put on hold, we have still seen a fair amount of enquiries, which is a positive sign when it comes to this robust industry. The lockdown measures are already being eased slightly and I don’t think it will take long until things start getting back to normal. It has been highly beneficial to be one of the lenders who are still very much open for business and I would expect for us to get very busy once people start taking advantage of the post-lockdown drop in house prices.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST WHEN THE LOCKDOWN ENDS?
As is the case with most people, I’m really looking forward to being able to see friends and family in a more relaxed environment. Working from home has many benefits but I’m also looking forward to finally getting to know my colleagues better and some after work drinks. Travelling is also on the to-do list and I’m excited to be able to make some future plans again.
ANY NETFLIX RECOMMENDATIONS?
Have binged on Sons of Anarchy over quarantine – old but gold! Would also recommend The Last Dance on Netflix – not my usual cup of tea but have really enjoyed the documentary.
